PORTRAIT OF SCRIABIN: PROF. SABRINA ZELIĆ SHOWCASED HER CD
In the Svetislav Stančić Concert Hall at the Zagreb Academy of Music, our esteemed member Prof. Sabrina Zelić showcased her CD dedicated to the works of Alexander Scriabin. During this engaging performance, she delivered a selection of preludes from Op. 11 and proudly premiered “Hommage S,” a composition inspired by both Scriabin and herself, written by our composer Vjekoslav Nježić. This piece, specially composed for Sabrina’s album, offers an intimate reflection on Scriabin’s piano repertoire, which holds significant value in preserving his legacy.

SCRIABIN 150—ECHOES: ESSAY BY DR. MIRNA RUDAN LISAK PUBLISHED IN RUSSIAN
The A. N. Scriabin Memorial Museum in Moscow has released an essay in Russian, featured in the book “Scientific Records”. This work is by our honorary member and editor-in-chief, Dr. Mirna Rudan Lisak. The essay is titled “The Light Organ of Composer Alexander Scriabin in the Musical Iconostasis of Painter Alexej Jawlensky”. Dr. Rudan Lisak shared her research during an international conference held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Scriabin’s birth.

NEW LEADERSHIP OF THE CROATIAN SOCIETY “ALEKSANDAR SCRIABIN”
The Scriabin Society was established four years ago. On November 24th, 2023, an election assembly was held at the Academy of Music in Zagreb to appoint a new leadership. The newly elected president, Prof. Veljko Glodić, Ph.D., is expected to serve for the next four years. Prof. Božo Kovačević was appointed as the deputy president, while Marija Mikulić Štimac, Ph.D., was selected for the role of executive director. Furthermore, Mr. Luka Jalšovec was appointed as the secretary and coordinator of social networks. We cordially invite all Scriabin enthusiasts to join us in promoting Scriabin’s art!

TRANSLATION FROM RUSSIAN: PRESENTATION OF IGOR BELZA’S BOOK ”ALEKSANDAR N. SCRIABIN”
Igor Belza’s book “Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin” was originally written in Russian and has been translated into Croatian by Magdalena Marija Meašić. The book was presented at the “Vaclav Huml” Concert Hall in the Zagreb Academy of Music by Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan and Sanja Lovrenčić, the editor-in-chief of the publishing house Mala zvona. During the presentation, selected preludes for piano by Scriabin were played by Stipe Prskalo, Severin Filipović, and Jan Niković.

SCRIABIN 150—MAIN EVENT: INTEGRAL PERFORMANCE OF SCRIABIN’S 10 PIANO SONATAS
On marking the 150th birthday anniversary of the composer Alexander Scriabin, the Croatian Society “Alexander Scriabin” and the Zagreb Academy of Music organized at the Svetislav Stančić Concert Hall a unique musical experience―an integral performance of all ten Scriabin’s piano sonatas! The president of the Society, pianist and pedagogue Ruben Dalibaltayan, gathered his current and former students, as well as his friends, to give a chronological performance of these Scriabin’s masterworks in two concert evenings. SCRIABIN 150—LECTURE BY STEFAN CVETKOVIĆ, PH.D.
On marking Scriabin’s 150th birthday anniversary, the Croatian Society “Alexander Scriabin” and the Zagreb Academy of Music hosted Mr. Stefan Cvetković, Ph.D., assistant professor at the Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. The lecture was entitled ”Symbolism in the first five piano sonatas of Alexander Scriabin.”

SCRIABIN 150: RECITAL AND LECTURE BY PROF. VELJKO GLODIĆ, Ph.D.
In the Zagreb City Library, Prof. Veljko Glodić, Ph.D., gave a concert and lecture dedicated to Alexander Scriabin. This first event in Scriabin’s jubilee year was welcomed by the City of Zagreb Mayor representative Mirna Rudan Lisak, Ph.D. We thank the City of Zagreb Libraries and its “Wide-open-door Library” program, as well as the Library Music Department, on successful organization led by Mrs. Mirna Osmanović, the coordinator of the ”Let’s get to know musical instruments” project. This program was realized in cooperation with the Croatian Society ”Alexander Scriabin.”

SCRIABIN 150: PARTICIPATION OF MIRNA RUDAN LISAK, PH.D., AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (she dedicated her lecture to alexander serafimovich scriabin)
The International Scientific Conference “Creative Heritage of A.N. Scriabin in the Context of the Artistic Culture of the XX-XXI Centuries,” was held in Moscow from 10 to 12 October 2022. Organizers: Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, Memorial Museum of A. N. Scriabin, Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, Russian National Museum of Music, and Regional Public Organization “Scriabin Foundation.” Our Honorary Member and Editor-in-Chief, Mirna Rudan Lisak, Ph.D., gave a lecture entitled ”Alexander Scriabin’s light organ in the Music Iconostasis of the painter Alexej Jawlensky.”

IN MEMORIAM ALEXANDER SERAFIMOVICH SCRIABIN
It is with great sadness that we announce that Alexander Serafimovich Scriabin, Ph.D., has passed away at the age of 76. He was known as a dedicated researcher and presenter of his famous ancestor’s music legacy. It was on his initiative that our Society was founded, thus, as an Honorary President, he provided us with his permanent support. We say goodbye with immense gratitude. Rest in peace.

Jan Niković—Piano recital in the Scriabin Museum (Moscow, Russia)
In partnership with the Scriabin Museum, our Society organizes guest performances of young pianists in Moscow. A week after his Zagreb recital, promising Croatian pianist Jan Niković was the first to present himself to demanding Moscow audience. The recital was organized on the occasion of the upcoming 150th anniversary of Scriabin’s birth. After the concert, the Director, Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Lazarev, personally thanked Jan and handed him Museum souvenirs. We are very proud of this wonderful cooperation and friendship with our Russian colleagues!

JAN NIKOVIĆ—PIANO RECITAL
The Croatian Society “Alexander Scriabin” is especially dedicated to supporting young artists. Thus, in cooperation with the Zagreb Academy of Music, we organized a recital of the promising Croatian pianist Jan Niković in the Svetislav Stančić Concert Hall. Jan presented himself with the works of Haydn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and, of course, Scriabin. The recital was a great success, and we wish Jan good luck on his professional journey!

VELJKO GLODIĆ—PIANO RECITAL AND LECTURE
The Vice President of the Scriabin Society, Prof. Veljko Glodić, PhD, gave a piano recital in the Hall “Svetislav Stančić” at the Zagreb Academy of Music, with a lecture entitled “Alexander Scriabin and Contemporaries from Central Europe—Dora Pejačević and Béla Bartók.” After the recital, Prof. Glodić performed selected musical examples, thus the audience could enjoy many interesting connections between the works of three seemingly entirely different composers.

Essay on mystic chord translated and published in Russian
In the book “Scientific Records,” the Scriabin Museum published the essay “Alexander Scriabin’s Mystic Chord and a Puppet of Heinrich von Kleist,” written by our Honorary Member and Editor-in-Chief Mirna Rudan Lisak, PhD. The publication is an echo of the 100th anniversary of the Museum founding, and the official announcement of Scriabin’s 150th birthday, which will be celebrated next year in Moscow and many cities around the world, including Zagreb.

FIRST Tv PRESENTATION OF THE CROATIAN SOCIETY “ALEXANDER SCRIABIN”
Renowned TV show “Good morning, Croatia” (broadcasted on the First Program of the Croatian National TV), invited our Honorary Member and Editor-in-Chief, Mrs. Mirna Rudan Lisak, PhD, to present her book “Abstract Reproductive as Productive Art”, which spawned the networking of Russian and Croatian professionals and encouraged founding of the Croatian Society “Alexander Scriabin.”

FIRST EVENT ORGANIZED BY THE SCRIABIN SOCIETY— SOLO RECITAL BY PIANIST HARI GUSEK
Our first event marked the first anniversary of founding the Croatian Society “Alexander Scriabin.” We are honoured that on this occasion, the Croatian pianist Hari Gusek, known for his refined interpretations rich in tonal colors, performed on our stage. The program included works by Chopin and Scriabin, and the entire concert is available on our official YouTube channel.
